Learning communities provide a shared educational experience for students who are enrolled in two classes linked around a common, engaging, culturally relevant theme.

 

As the KU Office of First Year Experience Faculty Fellow I work with the FYE staff and campus partners on the design of new initiatives related to Goal One of KU’s Bold Aspirations Campaign: Strengthening recruitment, teaching, and mentoring to prepare undergraduate students for lifelong learning, leadership, and success. The faculty fellow is two-year term to contribute to the learning, knowledge, and expertise about the first-year experience at KU through the design of programs and campus outreach. In particular, the faculty fellow assists with the development of a campus plan to expand learning communities.
